Tater's baptism

On August 13, a lady was baptized at the church where we are so blessed to be able to fellowship a few times a month.  When the assistant pastor asked if anyone else wanted to be baptized, Tater scrambled up the altar barrier at the front of the church and was about to walk across the stage!  We knew our families would like to be there, so we contacted everyone and set a date for two weeks later.

So on August 27, our final child was baptized according to Matthew 28:19 and Acts 2:38.  His hand fell from his face at the last moment, so that made him a little scared when he went under (and he let us all know!).  But after it was over, he said he'd do it all over again.

The first week after he was baptized, we were amazed at the difference in our child.  He walked around the house talking about the Lord.  Several times a day, he'd say, "I just love that man Jesus!  Umm, um!"  It seems that we have gained an evangelist!

Tater had communion for the first time on September 3rd, and he told a deacon that when he took communion, he felt Jesus come into his heart.  Here are a few other things he's said or prayed in the past few weeks:

"Daddy, when I grow up, I want to go to Bro. H's church, because they have Message!"

"I love communion, because of the Lord Jesus."

"And Lord, I pray we can go to church so we can hear your holy Word.  And I pray that we can take communion so that I can remember the Lord."

All of this has blessed our hearts so much.  It seems like such a huge reward for the simple act of sharing the Gospel with our children and doing our best to live it out alongside them.

Here's the link to his baptism video.

On Communion Sunday, we heard this in the sermon, "Desperations," and New Daddy and I eyed each other, both of us thinking about what we'd heard from Tater during the past week.
"Look, what were you, and what are you?  There is how you know.  See?  What was you before this Token was applied?  What are you after It's applied?  What was your desires before, and what is your desires after?  Then you know whether the Token is applied or not.  And these other things just automatically go with That.  See?"
