Before July passes, too...

Kids dressed up in pioneer clothing
We decided that this summer was The Summer of New Flooring.  Only, it's turned into a stairway railing, tread refinish, and hallway and living room repainting project, too (original railings were painted hideous brown, and baluster spacing wasn't to code).  Here's the kitchen with its new flooring-self.  The brown-gray floor grounds the blue-green-gray walls.  Very homey.  Makes our black appliances look less like misfits than they did with the old white tile.  We love it.  The cork-backed flooring has turned out to be somewhat more soundproof than tile, so we're happy.  Still a little caulking to do around the under-cabinet quarter round; but the kitchen/dining is mostly finished.

We were so grateful that Bro. Joseph Branham wrapped up the spring Agapao tour in Georgia.  We had a great time fellowshipping with people we hadn't seen in years (though there were so many people that we missed seeing several friends!), and the atmosphere in the services was heavenly.  Here's a quick recap of the wonderful time we had.

And during all of this, we managed to take off a few nights to go camping, tubing, and biking at Davidson River with my family!  Kids had a blast with their cousins.  Two days before we left home, I frantically spray-painted a purple and pink bike that Grandmama R had found at Goodwill that was Tater's size.  He picked out kiwi green and blue glitter.  Only he hasn't really learned to pedal yet (only balance), so he would have been better off with his balance bike again.

Tater turned four last week!  He is still campaigning to keep nursing ("But I'm a little big boy!" hahaha)  Sorry, buddy, Mama's done.  He never meets a stranger, and his latest social habit is to tell women that they're beautiful.  He has definitely learned the keys to success, hehe!

We're still doing some school this summer- mostly pushing through math that needs to stay in forward motion.  We're not really behind, but we could easily become behind if we don't stay in gear.  Mornings are peppered with "math minutes" with New Daddy-- always a bit of fun.  Cutie is pushing through her reading curriculum (Reading Made Easy).  She completed Lesson 72 yesterday, so the end is in sight.

The pool is staying clean this year!  I hope I didn't speak too soon.  We bought the largest filter we've ever had (after failing [ahem] to winter last year's filter); and apparently, it works.  No more green pool after only a week of fun.  Kids are really enjoying it, and Tater is learning to doggy paddle in the water that hits him just above his waist (30 inches deep).  As soon as he graduates to "swimming like a fish" à la his siblings, it'll probably be time for a deeper and wider pool.  They've already taught him to go under and hold his nose.  This should make bath time a breeze, right?  No more tears when I wash his hair, right?

So that's a little of what we've been up to since school has let out.  Never a dull moment!
