Bored, Pre-Baby Post #2- what's going on with the house

During the first attempt to drill a hole to run Cat 5 (or now Cat 6) cable New Daddy lost an 8-foot drill bit in the wall.  It was then that we realized that running the cable was going to be a heftier task than New Daddy had anticipated, but one that was still worth doing.  So we've put basement-finishing plans on hold for now.  But what we have done is bought bunk beds and split the two bedrooms into boys' and girls' rooms.  It's a good thing we don't speak Latin, or we'd have run out of rooms.  (bad joke)

Precious and Cutie are in the current school/playroom with new bunk beds. We got the least-expensive bunk bed frames we could find at Ikea, and they are thrilled with them.  They are much sturdier than the convertible-twin bunk beds we had been using.  The old beds are fine as twin beds, but sway too much to stack safely.  So we've set up one of those twin beds for Bubby.  We think that Bubby is a sound enough sleeper to share his current room with Baby Tater (?) after Tater graduates from our bed to his crib.  When Tater is two or so, we'll get bunk beds for the boys, and Tater will get the lower bunk.

We're trying to make the girls' room pretty-ish after we clear school stuff out.  I still need to get another quilt, and they probably need a dresser with a mirror... girls, you know.  Aunt R is coming the week Tater is due to help me organize, redecorate, and store things beautifully.  She got those genes; I did not.  I hope to post pics after we've gotten the girls' room and school zone set up.

Toys.  Ah, yes-- those.  The ones that we don't consign will be divided between the two rooms, for now.  And since we do most of our schooling in the dining room, anyway, we'll get an armoire from Craigslist and set up school supplies in the dining room.  Ah, pour économiser l'espace- when you don't have any to spare, anyway.

How do you like "Tater"?  A nice reflection of our Southern heritage, I think?  As if "Bubby" wasn't that, already...

I have a similar lamp in my son's bedroom. He has a cowboy theme. I made a copy of Bro. Branham's cowboy picture and also framed the cowboy's poem he quoted. :) Chris W.

So neat! Bubby loves his cowboy-themed room, and he loves that it is ALL his :). What a great idea to frame Bro. Branham's poem, too! I'm thinking the "I am lonesome..." poem?
