More from Cutie

Recently, Cutie was eying the horseshoe crab that we brought home from Cape San Blas last December.

"Mama, can the horseshoe crab be our pet?"

NM: Well, it's dead, so it's not really a pet.
C: That's okay; it can be our dead pet horseshoe crab!
(She was really excited about this notion.)

And lately, she has been doing this thing at mealtimes.  As soon as New Daddy says, "Let's pray," before anyone can even get their eyes closed, we hear "Lord Jesus, pray you'd bless this food, Amen," spoken hurriedly from Cutie-- before anyone else can even think about praying.  I guess the youngest child has to elbow their way up somehow...

My last post was on how Rosie is slowly learning to be a good LGD.  But for the past six months, Rosie has constantly been an exceptional family dog.  In particular, Rosie has always been partial to Cutie, and Cutie loves to cuddle on Rosie.  The other week, New Daddy was working in the backyard, and Rosie was lounging in the dog house.  After a while, Rosie exited the dog house.  And then... Cutie followed.  We didn't even know Cutie was in there, in the first place...

And, speaking of Rosie's LGD training, I am happy to report that this week, the chickens have been fully in her tethered circle.  But instead of chasing them away as she has done in the past, she smelled them casually and gave them a few licks.  Bonding!  YES!!
