Nursing home visit

We finally made it back to the nursing home this morning! The new activities director has had some, shall we say, issues, with getting us on the schedule. Our scheduled slots just kept disappearing. At last, six months later, we finally returned. Bubby was a little shy at first, but soon was going around and "HEY!"-ing folks. Precious handed out candy canes while I played and sang our Christmas/ Christian music program. I think it is emotionally healthy for young and old to mingle. Visiting the nursing home gives us this opportunity.
Precious offers a candy cane to a resident; Bubby toddling around with a cookie in one hand, a grape in the other, and red dye on his left cheek!

Precious is the endless conversationalist. She will explain something in the most wordy way possible, to get to practice speaking, and maybe to fill silence. I am definitely the more taciturn member of our brood. Bubby seems to be just as verbal as Precious. At 16.5 months, his vocabulary is around thirty words, with a couple of phrases. ("Shut door," "thank you")

His latest discovery is "amen." When we pray, listen to Bro. Branham, or the radio, the monologue is broken by his hearty "ah-meh!"s. And, when we finish praying, "In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ we ask," we wait, and Bubby promptly finishes for us: "Amen!" (now, let's EAT!) Another cute Bubby-ism is that when New Daddy and I kiss, he says "Bye," because he knows New Daddy is about to leave. It always makes us laugh.

Update on New Daddy: He had been getting better every day since Sunday. Then, Wednesday afternoon, the weather was so beautiful, he decided to go running. Thursday afternoon, he plopped onto the couch and took a long nap, freezing, again. He had a fever last night and sweated a lot. We've been going to bed at a decent hour, for a change; so in the mornings, he's been feeling great. Then, this afternoon, he became feverish again. He took some daytime TheraFlu so he could finish his work. I expect tonight to be another early-to-bed night.

We were listening to the end of the Seventh Seal while New Daddy finished his work last night, and at the end, Bro. Branham asked God to deliver all of the sick people there. We felt the Holy Spirit so sweetly, and from then on, I've been thanking God for healing New Daddy. It was so wonderful, I was asking myself, "Why didn't I turn on a tape before now?". Sometimes we just don't know what we're being deprived of until we finally get what we've been needing.
