More and more adorabler

Here are a few things we've been doing lately.

Precious
  • -Baa Baa Black Sheep. Only her version says, "have you any wolf?" She has the master and dame down very well. In fact, while we were listening to Bro. Branham today, he said "Master" in a sentence, and Precious launched into the end of the poem.
  • -writing 9's, Q's, or whatever the pencil spits out that becomes a recognizable symbol
  • -"reading" Brown Bear, Brown Bear quite well by herself
  • -Preaching to New Daddy. Why he encourages this, I'm not sure! I think it's for entertainment, though. She sets up a music stand with some Message books and goes at it. New Daddy heartily "amens" her, and they end in a lively, atonal song that contains a few key phrases interspersed with held-out vowels.

Bubby

  • -Yelling, at the phone, "HEY!" over and over. He is so excited that he can communicate on the phone! He's also adopted Precious' technique of giggling to answer a question he can't quite verbalize the answer to.
  • -Mumbling "uh, huh" while we're nursing. It started with me using the expression to let my babies know that I comprehend their baby phrases. Well. Bubby caught on. We now have whole conversations of this phrase while we nurse. It is so very sweet.

New Mommy

  • -Sourdough (NT p. 489). I started my starter yesterday, and it will be ready for baking next Tuesday.
  • -Retrying pickled cucumbers, only this time with fresh dill and cucumber slices, not spears. These will be ready on Friday.
  • -NT Rugelach. This will be ready to bake tomorrow.
  • -Is someone getting the picture that my kitchen is full of [smelly] fermenting experiments? Ah, yes, that would be correct.
  • -Gathering our Year 0 Charlotte Mason materials list. It's going to be an Amazon wishlist for Precious' birthday very soon.
  • -Playing Bro. Branham, first thing in the morning, while preparing breakfast. My, does it ever help me! The children seem calmer, too. When they really want to romp around, they head to Precious' room :D.
