Staying busy

These days, I'm wondering how anyone with more than one child ever has time to blog!

Yesterday was Bubby's 1-month checkup. He's 10 lbs., 13 oz. without his diaper on, 22 inches long. I thought he would have shots, but we have another month before that starts. He's been spitting up a lot lately, but don't most babies do that? New Daddy seems a little less spit-up-a-phobic with Bubby than he was with Precious.

Precious remains the doting big sister. In the car, she says "Hey, Ookie!" constantly, and is always eager to help rock his infant carrier. Unfortunately, finesse is still elusive in this area. The doctor commented that I'm doing well with making Precious feel loved, because she doesn't seem jealous of the baby. She has also become even more of a Daddy's girl, especially when I have to care for Bubby.

His first smile was last night-- for New Daddy!

Precious is talking in three-word sentences, like "Ookie, me holdy," while gesturing to herself. "Diaper" no longer sounds like "Bible"; it sounds like "diaper." She learned "candy" very quickly, along with "please." Plus tons and tons of other words. She's putting on and taking off shoes, socks, shirts, and skirts. We've had several successful outings in underwear; I have to stay alert to her needs.

I've put a toilet in her room, and we're going to put her in a toddler bed soon, so she can go at night when she needs to. Terebithia's idea of letting her sleep nakey-bottom has worked very well. She wet a few times, but yesterday, she woke up from her nap crying before she wet the bed. Yay!! Let's see if this keeps up...

This concludes the update for posterity's sake. Here is a picture of the little man from last night.

The picture of Lucas is SO cute! I can't wait to see him and Renee again! We may just have to wait and go to the fair next weekend so we can see them!
