"Babies" chewing on their caulk tubes outside of Home Depot
(guess who was imitating whom)
We have had an ant problem since the weather has warmed up. They are coming in our double doors to the deck. At first, we were just going to caulk around the trim where we could see the critters coming in. Then, New Daddy found a huge gap on the outside where the siding meets the bottom of the threshold. The only problem with filling this gap is that he couldn't squeeze the caulk gun into the tiny space below the overhang on the threshold.
Saturday, he started taking the original threshold off. (This is why we were late to church [ahem].) He finished taking it out this morning, with Precious' "help" on the pliers. One thing we didn't plan on, though, was the smoke that has been drifting from the fires in southern GA. As soon as I realized that it was in the house, I shut the bedroom doors. That way, at least we can sleep with clean-ish air. As the day goes on, the outside air has been clearing.
After he got the threshold out, we discovered some rotting wood below the outside trim. The adventure continues!
To be continued...
