Kitchen update- the sink is in!

Pretty excited this morning- we (mostly New Daddy) put in the sink last night, trimmed the backsplash, and caulked things up.  I sanded the filled nail holes this morning, and I'll be touching up the paint in a little while.  New Daddy will plumb it up today.  But... wow!  Yay!

I've been scrubbing dishes in the hall bathroom sink, which feels tiny when dishes are involved, and running them to the dishwasher.  It's like a Cinderella story, hehe!

Backsplash is mdf bead board from Home Depot, painted with semi-gloss Benjamin Moore "Cream Fleece".
The orbital sander was worth its weight in gold

Silk-smooth seams!  We decided not to mitre it to save on materials, and because it was so close to the sink.  The bulging, water-damaged formica countertop seam always bugged me before.
He marked it and drilled in some metal pilot screws.  It's a good thing he did, because we accidentally put it in backwards at first; but he caught it before anything final was done.

Ta-daaaah!  (Yes, that's my cook stove still out on the deck table, hahaha.)
