Cutie's frankness

I just have to share this quip from a few weeks ago, around the time that Cutie turned six.

My mama, Grandmama R, is wonderful about finding the girls skirts at Goodwill, etc. that flow well, and then taking them up in the waists so that they fit the girls and look great.  It is truly a labor of love.

Cutie's tastes in clothing tend towards glittery and dressy; shrugs are a favorite accessory.  Grandmama had recently found Cutie a pretty black skirt with glittery trim and glittery thread-- just perfect.  But she'd also found another skirt with stripes in deeper hues of tan, burgundy, and turquoise.  When she showed the second skirt to Cutie, Cutie declined it, explaining that she already had plenty of skirts.

In stepped Aunt R, who must have thought that Cutie's feelings might have been a bit harshly expressed and not sincere.

"Do you meant that you don't like it right now?" she questioned.

And Cutie replied, "No, I don't like it ever."

And Grandmama R was a champ and wasn't in the least offended.  In fact, she found her granddaughter's frankness quite amusing.
