Last hurrah for February

It's been a good month.

GAPS is still working well for us, and we're staying sickness-free.  Except for Tater, who's had a bit of a runny nose on and off.  Even New Daddy, who doesn't follow the diet strictly (ahem- Krispy Kreme) when he's out of the house, has managed to get through the season staying well.  This is so unusual for us; I'm thinking about doing GAPS intro every year between Thanksgiving and Christmas!  I've slacked up a little on the bone broth, which you're not really supposed to do.  I also bought a more intense probiotic, Gut Guardian, that doesn't have GAPS-unfriendly ingredients, like the Tummy Tuneup that I usually take.

At 20 months, Tater is talking up a toddler storm, and we are so in love with everything he says.  Today, after a rather notable event in his diaper, I asked him what was in his diaper?  "Doo-doo," he replied.  Though, he's getting pretty good about going on the potty.  He tells us when he needs to go sometimes-- usually by clutching the toilet and gasping "doo... doo." hahaha

He calls New Daddy (and other men) "da-ee", women "muhmuh", Bubby "Lu", and can point to the parts of his face (and yours, too, if you'd like).  He says wall, no, towel, shower, ow, wow, dog (doh!), cow, cat, horse, duck, hot, cold, shoe, eye, food, eat, cheese, water, and milk.  I'd say we're close to twenty right now.

The basement is mostly finished, and we were able to finish paying for it with our tax return.  We've had guests a few times already, and we bought an inflatable mattress until we can get a sofa bed.  We still need closet doors in the back room, and we need to get the armoire moved out so that I can set up a music studio (Craigslist, anyone?  Ballard Designs armoire, dentil moulding), and so we can start recording again.  Next fall, I'm going to start teaching private lessons and a homeschool orchestra class in the back room.  New Daddy has started working two days from home (what a blessing!), so having this room finished has been a huge help to him.  The kids are using and loving their playroom, and it will be a nice space for siblings during music lessons.

So... February has been a good month.
