For a week or so, Bubby had been asking us if he could be baptized. New Daddy put together several outstanding devotionals on baptism to give the kids a little more understanding, and Bubby remained determined. But he didn't want to get baptized in front of a large crowd and wanted to be baptized in Poppy's pool, just like New Daddy had been. We had to explain to him that both of our families wanted to be at his baptism, and it would be hard for them all to come to Poppy's house. But he still asked Poppy several times to baptize him while the kids were there last week!
We had put in a 30-inch deep pool a couple of weeks ago. While both of our families were here last Saturday, we had the baptism service in our backyard. Since Poppy and Grandad R were here-- both such pillars of the Faith, they each prayed before New Daddy baptized him. The neighbors were away and saved their backyard party for Sunday, when we were gone. It all worked out perfectly, and there was a wonderful Spirit present.
