Half a year of sheer joy

When I look at Tater and realize that he's approaching seven months, I just marvel at the blessing that is this child.  He has been the easiest baby, by far.  But he's so much more than that.  He's a big cuddle bug, loud boy, and he is all joy.  He delights in things that might not make anyone else give a second glance.  But a look from mama... instant smile, with the tongue showing, too.  A gurgle from a sibling results in a husky-voiced coo.  I cannot describe the joy and love that this child gives us all.

We had a checkup today, and this was the first time he actually seemed to care that a strange person was poking and prodding at him.  He looked at me and asked if this was okay, with a little cry!  I smiled at him and told him he was a good boy.  That was good enough for him.

Here are his stats:
Weight: 17 lbs., 7 oz.
Height: 27.5 inches (90th percentile, still)

He is still teething and drooling profusely, but no teeth have cut through.  He's barely sitting up, still toppling over after a few moments.  He had his first day in nursery at school this Monday, and the report is that he had a great time.  He's barely starting to raise up on "all fours."  The older kids are so excited about this.  "He's about to start crawling," they exclaim.  He grabs everything, and he's learning how to leave something alone when he hears "no."
