More home improvements

New Daddy took a week off in between jobs... that's another plot by itself. He needed a break, and he took one. During this time, he's been able to plumb the hall bathroom sink. He had installed the sink a couple of weekends ago. Now, to just get the remaining cabinet door hung, and we'll actually have a complete, much improved hall bathroom.

A few weeks ago, we also had our chimney re-sided. This involved New Daddy crawling up on the roof to peel off the rotting siding. When he was finished, I was speechless upon seeing the rotten sheathing underneath the rotten siding. I wish I had taken pictures. When our friend who was doing the work for us got below the chimney, he discovered rotten floor joists. He installed adjacent joists.

This project also involved cutting off our electricity for a day. Needless to say, the kids and I enjoyed a day out. The power truck came at 9:00 AM to roll our line back to the street, and they returned at 3:00 to roll it back to the house. I still can't believe that our friend's team of three sided our whole chimney that quickly and did such a precise job. We're scheduling them to finish the sides of our house in the next week or so.

After the house gets re-sided, we've decided that our next project is the replacement of the kitchen countertops. This will probably be done by the end of the summer. :P
