Update II- the kind doctor

Good news. The kind doctor didn't make us wait long at all for him to get around to us, even though the waiting room was rotating lots of sick kids. He listened to Bubby's breathing while Bubby worked up a good crying and coughing fit, because this man had dared to mess with him! After a quick examination, he declared that the culprit was an ear infection.

(This explains why food actually hurt him on the sides of his mouth! And all of the fussiness...)

This diagnosis gave me the goofy grin. Of all things. I know what to do for an ear infection! But I let the kind doctor write out his antibiotic prescriptions, and went home with the same goofy grin. I made Bubby some warm garlic-olive oil drops, put them in, and he's already feeling better. After a few more treatments, he'll be just fine.

When the doctor left, he said bye, and waited for his friendly smile to win Bubby over. After Bubby waved, smiled, and said, "Bye bye!" with his superboy-charm, the doctor declared, "It was worth it!" The moment truly was remarkable, because Bubby has never liked a doctor before. I think this guy might just win him over, if we ever have to see him again, that is. When you need one, though, it's nice to have one you can trust, and one your kids like.
