Bubby has been asking for the Brer Rabbit Tar Baby story a lot today ("Read the raddit!"). First, this afternoon was Mommy's version. Read the story, do nice voices, approximate the original language-- yes, all very nice. Then, after supper, Daddy's version. Brer Rabbit howls outrageously at Tar Baby, jumps all over the floor, and Bubby acts the whole book out with Daddy. This was definitely the boys' version. Big boy and little boy-- all boy.

i'm on bedrest and our brer rabbit treasury is a staple on my couch. i read it every morn and night upon request and ellie said the other day "i'm a tar baby!"
