The picture post

I did it. The pictures are now up on my Picasa. It seems that there will be none for the blog.

We encountered several deer, at least a few a day, it seems. On the Loop Road trip Wednesday morning, Precious perfected her deer call. "DE-ER! HEY, DEER!" Thankfully, the deer seemed pretty used to being called in this manner. Bubby tolerated the bike trailer far better than he did last year. He actually asked to take trips in it once we were back from our long trip around the loop. It turned out to be the perfect diversion while the dishes got done. (Have I mentioned that Bubby and Precious love water? Like most kids, I bet.)

We also took the kids swimming in the river twice. Precious moved really well with her floaties on, and Bubby mostly occupied himself by throwing rocks into the river. The second carriage picture is our last glimpse of New Daddy's silver wedding ring, since he lost it in the river a day later. Thankfully, it was not the one I gave him on our wedding day that has a portion from Song of Solomon engraved on the inside.

We went in to town once, on Tuesday, and that was almost more than enough. But, a visit to The Old Mill area and restaurant was a little less gaudy than an average tourist trap. Oh, and don't get me started on the peach hot sauce from the general store. It's good on everything: mashed potatoes, beef and beans, chili and hot dogs. Everything. Aunt Ma enjoyed the pottery. I held Bubby the whole time to avert any disaster.
