More fishy business

Tonight, New Daddy will be the guest blogger, unbeknownst to him. This is pasted from an email he wrote his parents about the kids' and cousins' visit to a trout farm this Saturday. I just love that in every picture of a fish, the kids have varying degrees of expressions from "happy" to "yuck," but in every shot, New Daddy is grinning at the fish. The man is a fisherman. Here's what he had to say:

"Our trip to "Rainbow Ranch" was really nice. It's the best trout farm I've ever been to by far - they've been in business for over 30 years and know what they're doing. They had 3 ponds with different size trout in them. The big fish pond had some 10 lb trout, and you could easily see them swimming around in the clear water. They were huge. We got one rod and Cousin Za, Cousin E and Precious took turns catching fish. They each caught two.

Za can cast very well. E can't really cast... she sort of slapped the cork out onto the pond, but the fish were right next to the bank so she had no trouble hooking one. Precious also slapped the water trying to cast, but somehow actually made one good cast (by mistake). Precious understood she had to push the button on the reel, but she wouldn't let it go; even after she cast, she would just keep her cute little thumb on the button.

E and Precious landed their fish by backing up and dragging their fish up onto the bank. E was really good at picking up fish and putting them in the bucket. Za chased ducks and got called out by the staffers (heh heh), and E and Precious went for several walks together out in the big green field. They were so cute bouncing around out there. Za kept wanting to try to catch one with the dip net, which I remember trying to do the first time I went to a trout farm. We stopped and got ice cream sandwiches for everyone, which were very messy.

Back at Uncle B's house they played in the garage while it rained. E and Bubby rode in the pink car, and Za pushed his wheelbarrow and rode his christmas car and 4-wheeler. Bubby pushed a car for a while and kept ramming it into Za's car and laughing. Precious sat in a camp chair, held her baby doll and watched without saying a word. Sometimes, New Mommy just sits outside and watches while the kids play, so she thinks Precious was being the mommy."

I'm not sure who had more fun, us watching the kids, or the kids themselves!
