Rainy adventure

We made it up to the service Friday night, and had great fellowship on Saturday. We headed home around 6:00 Saturday evening. When we found out there wasn't a pianist at our church for Sunday, New Daddy decided it would be best to drive back so I could help out.

Around 9:00 PM, we got to our side of town, and the skies opened up. Normally, this wouldn't have been a problem on the interstate. But, we only had one windshield wiper. The driver's side wiper blade was coming off, and in the driving rain and lightning, it looked like a piece of spaghetti hanging on for dear life. The ironic part of this situation is that we had already bought the new wiper blades, and I had meant to bring them, just in case. But, I didn't.

We took an exit, stopped at a gas station, and waited for the rain to slacken. It didn't. So, we kept on going on the road that we exited onto, not really knowing the area very well. Finally, we came to a major road and knew where we were. The rain was still crazy, and the wiper blade was becoming more and more detached. And then, the wipers stopped. We immediately pulled over onto the shoulder, perched about a foot from a steep ditch. We got the emergency blinkers on.

A few moments later, the wipers came back on, and we made it to a gas station. New Daddy peeled off the expired blade, leaving only the rubber base. After that, the wipers actually did their job, and we made it home much less eventfully than before! It took us twice as long to get home than normal. We just have to say, "We Love You, Christian Assembly!!!"
