Happy New Year!

Well, the holidays have gone swimmingly. We spent a couple of nights at my parents' home (where I wrote the last post), then headed down to New Daddy's parents' place on Christmas day.

We spent a few nights at a beach house in Murrells Inlet, where the guys fought waves in wet suits and kayaks. The first two days, there wasn't much to fight, but then there was a storm Wednesday night. Thursday morning before we left, the waves were so powerful that Poppy's paddle got snapped into two pieces!

We got to see some beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and beautiful scenery in general. New Daddy had some interesting fishing stories (AKA disasters), which I'm sure he will be posting soon on his blog.

Guess who Precious adores? Her 6-year-old Cousin Za. During this week, she learned how to say Cousin Za and E's names and would yell their names and squeal whenever they walked in the room. It was a little loud, but very cute! Za is awesome with younger children. Here are Za, Precious, and E at Mimi and Poppy's house.

We got home yesterday around 5:30, and with three short stops, that wasn't too bad! We went to church this morning, and found out that evening services were off, so we got to spend a relaxing afternoon at home. My favorite part was getting to grocery shop alone. I needed the break, and we needed the time at home.

Things Precious is doing these days:
  • taking 5-6 steps alone
  • buzzing her lips like a brass player (waaaay cute)
  • saying "Hey" to the phone (behind her head) as clear as the day
  • cutting in her bottom molars (I told you she already has 2 molars on the top, right?)
  • dancing to music-- I play silly songs on the piano just to watch her bobble up and down
  • eating Mommy's whole wheat bread, which she loves {Yay!}
