I actually sat down a couple of weeks ago to blog...

... but then I decided that the material wasn't bloggable.  But you know what?  Better to say a little than nothing at all, right?

Life is busy, as usual.  We've traveled a lot this fall.  We took a short trip to Pigeon Forge during the Dollywood harvest festival.  Then, we took the kids to a couple of nights at Great Wolf Lodge for their Christmas present.  Then, we traveled for Thanksgiving, and we're going on another trip to Pigeon Forge with New Daddy's family before Christmas.

We're always thankful for family that tactfully expresses concerns.  Mimi had talked to us over Thanksgiving about our kids not really loving to read.  It echoed our own concerns, but hearing it from someone else gave us the motivation to do something about it.  All of our electronics are put away for now, except for my Kindle, and the kids are slowly learning to use books as their main source of entertainment.  We are really enjoying the difference!

We're on a break from Classical Conversations; while the break is nice, I'll be glad when we start back!  We sort of need the kick in the seat that comes with meeting weekly.  With all of the traveling we've been doing, school has been sketchy, and music lesson preparation needs some attention.  I guess that means I need to get off this computer!

A few quotes from Tater, copied from facebook:
to New Daddy: "You have to try and take me, and I have to try and laugh."
and

"Daddy, you shoot, and I'll try to stink you up! Psssssss!" (a skunk, maybe?)

The judge down the street from Granddad and Grandmama R owns a Civil War-era cannon.  When the young couple across the street (next door to the judge) decided start a family, they asked the judge if they could do a really unique gender-reveal party with the cannon.  They didn't find out the gender, but their friend at the hospital told the judge what color of "color run" powder to put in the cannon!  It just so happened that they did this the Saturday after Thanksgiving, when we were there for dinner.  Here's the video:
