Almost nine months- all about Tater

Tater is getting more mobile and vocal!  He gets around by rolling and pulling himself along with his arms... still no crawling.  But he can pull up on things, and he enjoys standing.  His first syllable, about a month ago, was "da-da," which he soon connected to New Daddy.  And his second syllable was "nah-nah," which has become his word for me.  He also likes a back of the throat "gm," "vah-vah," and "la-la."

Tater has four teeth now and enjoys eating just about everything.  I try to do this discretely in restaurants, but for meat, I pre-chew it and give him small bites, the way mamas used to do things, right?  He loves protein.  He enjoys vegetables smothered in butter and soft fruits like banana and avocado, but he seems to prefer meat.  As for the gross stuff, he likes the peppermint emulsified cod liver oil the best, but he'll take the orange skate, arctic mint, and the new, infused flavor: carob banana (with all of the fabulous products that Green Pasture produces mixed together!).  He also snacks on salmon roe with me; he's about the only child in the house who truly enjoys it.  The others either endure it or gag at the smell alone.

His personality seems to be pretty low-key.  The older kids can be all in his face, or a whirlwind of activity around him, and he seems very unaffected by it all.  He gets excited and loud when he recognizes something and when he's eating.  But other than that, he's cool as a cucumber.  He is a giggle box who enjoys tickles and rides from Precious, Bubby's silly faces and noises, and seeing himself in the mirror.  Whenever someone needs to wake up, we set Tater down beside them, and they are happy for him to be the person disturbing their sleep; he is so cute and smiley, and his slaps don't hurt too badly.
