Updates on everything

Update 1: The House
Our carpenters were out again yesterday, and they re-sided the left side of our house. Next week, we'll see if they can re-side the right side (they've already finished the back). New Daddy has decided to just get it all done.

Update 2: World Events
This report from VGR made me cry for our brothers and sisters in Chile. And it makes me wonder how much worse it will be for our country when a similar quake happens on the west coast. When the Chilean earthquake struck, I looked up earthquake history for a minute. The 1964 Alaskan earthquake was the second most powerful one in recorded history, a 9.2. The most powerful one was only four years earlier, in Chile, a 9.5.

Update 3: The Kids
I've been telling the children about current world events, but they still seem pretty happy and carefree, just as children should be. The warmer weather, sunshine, and the promise of spring have sent everyone slightly off kilter. Cutie breezed past fourteen months, still nursing, still admonishing her siblings for teasing her, but becoming a lot more social. She'll go to other people now.

Update 4: New Daddy's job
This is a huge blessing that we still aren't sure what to think about, except to just be thankful. The day after New Daddy decided that he was finished at his company, and knew he had to go somewhere else, Uncle B called him and told him that a developer was leaving his company. Uncle B's boss wanted him to call New Daddy and ask him if he could take the position. He interviewed, and they made him an offer.

He started working there this Wednesday, but not before we made a quick jaunt to Chattanooga, and New Daddy fought off an awful ear infection. He still can't hear out of his left ear, but we know that will come. At least he's feeling better. For now, maybe I can sit on his left side, and my uproarious laugh won't bother him at all.

New Daddy is taking the bus again and getting home earlier. He loves it. Add to that the bonus of not only working with a Christian, but a believer of this Message, and his own brother... well, it's got to be pretty nice. God is good.
