Summer visitin'

I've decided that it's a lot easier to have people over to the house than to go visit someone. We just finished a most lovely visit from my Aunt Kaye and cousin Brian. He is a few months older than Precious, and they got along swimmingly-- literally!

Two children + one pool = LOTS of splashes!

Yesterday, we made the trek to downtown to check out the new and fabulous Georgia Aquarium. The displays were excellent, and very climbable-- important for toddlers. A lot of the glass walls (sea nettles, beluga whales, tropical bay) were floor to ceiling, so the feeling was more like you were underwater with the creatures. Very nice, indeed, and very accessible to children. And there were just some really nice finishing details-- like the balcony above the belugas with tiling made to look like you were walking on an ice floe. Neat stuff like that.

We found the Atlanta Children's Museum and the new World of Coca-Cola within walking distance of the aquarium. With a new hotel going up across the street, it looks like this area is becoming the "new" tourist-y area of Atlanta.

I forgot to bring the camera for our excursion, which was nice, because I didn't have to keep up with it. So, we'll just have to settle for a picture that I took right before Brian and Aunt Kaye left out this morning. Thanks for coming over, y'all! We had a great time!
